Cafe Delicieux

There are very few hidden gems in the Northern Suburbs and even this one is not in a place where there is a lot of foot traffic but everyone from the Welgemoed area and surrounds will have heard about Cafe Delicieux.

It's really beautiful inside, small but they have made the most of their space and decorated with lots of crystal chandeliers, tea pots, pillows and simple pictures on the walls creating a welcoming environment that you want to sit in and look around at its beauty.

The service from the owner was great as we arrived at a busy time, we were 5 people so she made a plan and shuffled chairs to accommodate us. We went for breakfast and we were all happy with our choices, al well presented and fresh. We started with fresh juices which were also in beautiful glasses and decorated with a huge slice of fresh fruit.

I had the corn fritters with crispy bacon, spicy guacamole and scrambled egg which was delicious, salty and slightly sweet, not sure what was sweet, maybe the corn cake or possibly syrup on the bacon but it was just what i felt like eating that morning and I left wanting to go back and try more items on the menu.

This is the french toast with bacon, banana and pecorino cheese with loads of maple syrup to pour over or dip into which was also divine just salty and sweet enough so satisfy our breakfast cravings.

This is the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce which was also done very well it being a classic dish they did it justice, good quality salmon and a just tangy enough holladaise sauce.

Some other options for breakfast were open sandwiches, croissants and muffins to name a few.
They are open for breakfast, lunch as well as dinner three times a week.

I will definitely go back to try their lunch or dinner offerings. I would say their prices are average to high, my juice was R28 and my Breakfast was R68.
